A Commercial Station?

Give Us Money!

Popfreeradio.com has been experiencing insane growth recently and growing too quickly is becoming a financial issue. We're faced with a few choices here at the station regarding our streaming capabilities and the site itself. At peak times, we're maxing-out our listener sockets, and new listeners are unable to connect. We also experience slower page-load times during heavy-traffic periods. In order to expand the site to accommodate all users and listeners, we need to raise a few extra bucks a month. We can go about this a couple of different ways.

We can try to continue to provide commercial-free programming, and request donations from listeners to fund the additional station needs, or we can start airing commercials throughout the day. I'd always planned on airing commercials eventually, but not planned on doing it so quickly as it adds a new dynamic to the business end, and makes everything more difficult as the game becomes just as much about pleasing the sponsors as pleasing the listeners.

So I put it to you, the listeners to decide whether the station can make it off your support alone or if we'll have to start airing a commercial broadcast supported by corporations. If you want to support popfreeradio.com financially, use the secure paypal connection providedon the left of the screen. I'm not expecting this thing to work on listener-donations, but I figured we'd give it a shot before resorting to airing commercials.
